SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! This 48″ high limb chain saw worked well on three 3″ cuts. It worked so-so on one 8″ cut (kept getting stuck). After that, it just wouldn’t work. It keeps getting stuck. You have to have a tall ladder nearby to get up there and get it unstuck and it seems to be duller than a butter knife. Save yourself some money, lots of time, and an enormous amount of frustration, and get either a chain saw or a motorized pole saw. This thing is NOT worth it!

Customer Review: Believe what they say about sharp saws
You know how they always say that sharpening more than makes up for the time it takes? Believe it. I was on the steep side of the learning curve with my Stihl, and when I bought this sharpener- it turned the saw into a beast. Evidently, I had not been sharpening quite right. I’ve been using the Dremel attachment for about 5 years, after every 2-3 tanks of gas. The saw cuts faster, with less strain on the saw and on ME.

Customer Review: Replacement Chains are Expen$ive & Hard to Locate
I have had to replace my chain once so far and found it impossible to find them locally. Some online prices and availability are OK but the shipping really dings you. I found one online hardware site that had reasonable shipping plus a decent discount so I bought two replacements there. My original chain’s life was shortened somewhat by letting someone else borrow the Alligator (they got some dirt in the chain by cutting too close to the ground) as well as my cutting of some trees that were in excess of 6″ in diameter. I have no real complaints about the quality just the price and availability. I still think the Alligator is a fantastic tool.

I bought this chain saw because my husband had a shoulder injury. We have a lot of woods and this product has become indispensible!! I am not a fan of battery powered equipment and was very skeptical, but we have been using it for about 4 months and are really impressed. It is lightweight, holds a long-lasting charge and gets the job done - even on 5-7 inch pine trees. It can be carried easily out into the woods for clearing all types of branches and saplings. While not a fan of most powered equipment, even I have found that it is simple to use and makes the job so much easier than using a larger pruner or hand saw. Also we have never had the oil drip problem that many have mentioned so I give it an excellent rating!!
